Addi's School Picture Day

Since today is picture day at Addi's school and we never get to see the whole outfit in the picture I took my own as she was leaving this morning. Pretty cute Kindergartener if you ask me! :)

And then Jake was just being his usual silly, cute self this morning!

She'll be here in a week...

Well as strange as this whole pregnancy has been so far...the weeks spent taking medicines, getting shots, being on bed rest, etc. trying to keep Anna from coming early...to now, the recent days spent wondering if she'll ever decide to come...one thing is for sure...by this time next week our baby girl will be here! And we are very excited...the kids are thrilled...Addi can't wait to change diapers, Jake touches my belly and says "I love Anna" and can't wait to hold her, and James and I are looking forward to having little tiny baby again. So, thanks again for the prayers for our family over the past few months...we are very blessed and looking forward to becoming a family of 5 next week...next Friday to be exact...September 19th!

Baby Anna Update

We had our last ultrasound this morning and everything continues to look good...she's practicing her breathing, moving around lots (well as much as she can now that there is almost no room left), and weighs 7 lb. 5 oz. We go back again on Friday morning and are still scheduled for next Friday, the 19th at 1pm for the c-section. The doctor still seems to think that we probably won't make it until then, but I'm guessing it will end up a week from Friday. We've tried so hard to get her to stay put that it really seems weird for everyone to be so anxious for her to get here now, but we are definitely ready to meet her and bring her home with us!

Almost 37 weeks and going strong!!!

We went to the doctor this morning and after trying so hard to keep Anna from coming way too early she may never decide to come. We go back on Monday for another ultrasound to see how she's doing, how big she's getting, and to see my doctor who has been out of town for the past 2 weeks. We are scheduled for a c-section on September 19th if she doesn't come before then so at least we have an ending date in sight! :) We'll keep everyone posted.

Addi loves homework!!!

Tonight we went eat Mexican for dinner and to Baskin-Robbins for dollar scoop night. We got back home at about 7:15 and started the evening routine...pack lunch, bath/shower, medicine, etc. Today was also the first day of "homework packets"...instead of just having a sheet in her folder each day we now have the week's homework all at once (makes it nice so you can get ahead if you want) and a reading log (Addison is supposed to read one book each night with someone). So, she and I got busy on that...tonight was only supposed to be to cut out and go over letter/sound flashcards and read a book, but Addison really wanted to do some paper/pencil work too so we worked on tomorrow night's worksheet as well. So we ended up spending about 30 minutes working on homework together...and she loved it. I had to stop her from doing the rest of the week's work because it was bedtime. When we were putting things away for the night she looked at me and said, "Mama, this is the best night of my life...because I got to do so much homework!" It was too cute and sweet, but I'm afraid the feeling's not going to last for too many more years. But who knows? She may be completely different than her Mommy and Daddy were growing up and love it forever, but I doubt it! I'll just enjoy her enthusiasm for now! :)

Heartland Festival

Saturday morning we went with Aunt Judy to the Heartland Parade to see cousin Mandy march in Central Hardin's band. The kids had a good time...Jake thought the bands and the sirens on the fire truck were a little too loud, but both of them got the hang of catching the candy and suckers that some of the groups passed out as they went by. After the parade the kids went with Grammy and Granddaddy out to the lake for the festival and got their faces painted, rode some rides, and ate lunch (which of course included ice cream) and then headed back home to crash. They both slept all afternoon. Then we went to the Clifford's Heartland Party that evening. The kids played with all of the other boys and girls that were there and enjoyed watching the hot air balloons and fireworks...actually Jake and Granddaddy stayed inside during the fireworks because Jake went a little nuts when the booms and bangs started up! We had a fun day and Mommy was glad to get out of the house and do some "normal" stuff for a change...we're now 36 weeks so I am not totally confined to my red chair I've been sitting in for the past 2 months! :)
