Roseola

So our mystery illness is no longer a mystery...Jake woke up this morning with a rash behind his ears, on his neck, and torso...the nurse says it is roseola. Apparently 3-5 days of fever over 103 and a rash to follow are the main symptoms. It looks like we won't be going to Nashville tomorrow for James' aunt and uncle's 60th anniversary, but I am glad to know what was causing the fever.

Feeling better

As is obvious from this picture taken this afternoon...Jake woke up from his nap this afternoon fever free (yeah!), so I think we're finally over this whatever we've had for the past 4 days.
Addi had a great time over at Camden's house this afternoon making play-doh and dusting the house(??? I'll have to try this with her more often here at our house!)...anyway, his mommy sounds like a whole lot more fun than me. :)

Sick Little Buddy/Preschool Homework?

Well Jake is now on Day 3 of fever bouncing back and forth between 101 and 104...he doesn't seem to have anything else wrong with him...he just feels bad and is tired of being sick...he does seem to perk back up a little whenever Addison comes home and wants to play with him though...hopefully he'll get better today...we are all exhausted!
Addison's heart echo came back "completely normal" so we are very happy to hear that. Last night Addison had "homework" for preschool...I had no idea we were going to start that this year, but she was thrilled...she had to put different scents on 4 cotton balls (it was for a 5 senses unit they are doing). Addison put apple juice on one, spray butter on another and then got a little carried away with Mommy's perfume so we have 2 with Estee Lauder Beautiful on them...oh well...she thought she was a very big girl this morning taking her homework back to school.

Birthday/Sick Day

Today was my 31st birthday...Jake's been sick today (running a fever - he's got some kind of virus)...I took him to the doctor this morning (strep test - negative, finger prick - low white blood count?, and then he got his feet all bandaged up and some medicine for his little treadmill accident over the weekend - he was worn out by the time all that was done!)...we just hung out around the house most of the day and then went to Mom and Dad's for supper and cake...it was yummy!

Here's some pictures of Addi and her new bike and hula hoop she got for her birthday, Jake playing ball and having a popsicle (one of his all time favorite summer activities!).

Addi's shots and it is hot!

Addison did pretty well with her 4 year old shots...she had to have 3, but James took her and he said things went well...they stopped for milkshakes on the way home...Dr. Ball heard a heart murmur again...she'll have an echo on Tuesday to make sure that it's not anything to worry about...I still worry, but I'm sure it will be fine.

Jake is 17 months old today...he's been a little rotten at the dinner table lately...he throws food...obviously some is going in from the looks of him, but the other night James smacked his hand and told him he was being "beligerant"...I'm sure he understood.

We spent the morning with Mark out at the lake setting up the MOPS tent (diaper changing and cookies and water for kiddos) for Heartland...it's 900 degrees, but it's a good thing to do...things at church are going great so any way to get people connected is definitely worthwhile.

The pictures were from a few weeks ago at the Ingram's pool...it's been too hot to swim even the past few days!

#1 Pictures

I meant to add pictures to the last post...Addison on her first day of school and Jake "lifeguarding" Addi's birthday/swim party.

#1

Okay, this is our first official family blog...some friends of ours have one and said that it was a great way to give family updates and to get pictures of the kids to family and friends far away. Well...at this point our entire immediate family lives in Hardin County, so it's not a necessity that we update by blog, but I figure it'll be a great way to keep track of what's going on...even if we're the only people who read it! :)

Addison turned 4 on August 8th...she's loving her 4 year old preschool class...she is not going to love her 4 year old check-up and shots that are tomorrow afternoon...James will be taking her!

Jake is 16 months old...he loves cheese and chicken nuggets therefore he is now officially "a chunk"...saw one of his nurses last week at Cracker Barrel and she said the same thing everyone seems to say, "he sure doesn't look like he was a preemie!"...he says "uh-oh" and "mama" a lot...still working on "daddy" and "Addi".
