Jake's Memory Verse

Jake and I were riding home from church together this morning (Addi's sick so James stayed home with her and Anna) and he started to say something over and over...he's still a little hard to understand at times, but finally I got what he was saying..."Obey the Lord." I thought maybe he was repeating what the preacher was saying on the radio or something, but it turned out that was his memory verse from this morning so I was very impressed. So then I thought I would talk to him about obeying the Lord and that obeying the Lord also involves obeying other people too (I was thinking about obeying parents, teachers, etc.) so I asked him, "Who else should we obey?" and very quickly Jake replied, "Reese." She's a little cutie in his Sunday School class...I guess she's got him trained already! :)

That makes me SOOOOOOOOO happy! I've been bribing them. If they say the verse they get a skittle or a fruit gummy. Yesterday they all made me cry with their sweetness. Thanks for sharing this.

And obeying Reece... lol... yesterday they both had some sharing issues so that just cracks me up. He did "obey" Reece a lot I guess :). Oh, I'm going to miss those two when they move up.

Yeah Reese thinks everyone should obey her. Poor Jake and Reese having to deal with new sisters they just get no attention!! Reese talks about Jake all the time at home.

I think this is the first time that I've commented on your blog! But today when we were playing "library" upstairs, Jake was the librarian, haha, and i brought some books up to check-out and he started singing, "Go tell it on the mountain..." like 5 times. He told me he heard it at church- he has a good memory!

Then I asked him to sing it again, and he told me that he wanted ME to go tell it on the mountain! haha, crazy Jake : )

So glad to see that Jake is doing good. I hadn't heard anything about you all since JEddie left Kosair. I had a real estate card that James had given us while we were there and tried to send a Christmas card 2 yrs ago but it came back. Congratulations on your new baby, she is so cute. Jake is also a cutie, I never saw him while we were at Kosairs. You have a beautiful family. JEddie is also doing great. My email address is charlier_martin@hotmail.com and I would love to hear from you all. Hope you have wonderful Thanksgiving!!
